Winter Steelhead Fishing

The Trinity River is know for its excellent steelhead fishing.  Fly fishing for steelhead in the Trinity River is such a thrill. You'll find great riffles, and deep pools of water to throw flies into as you drift your way through this scenic river. The Trinity River is an excellent place for a late season float. The beauty  of the waters, crisp air, and the changing of the tree's leaves makes the transition into Fall, the fly fishing is spectatular.  Huge trophy steelhead can be caught on this river. 

The Steelhead fly fishing time is best  in the late Fall into the Winter, when the steelhead run is on, winding down around February. On the Trinity River, here, the big fish tend to travel in pods and often feed aggressively on the rivers numerous hatches. With the scenic surroundings, and fantastic steelhead fishing, the Trinity River is the ultimate guided fly fishing experience.

The Trinity River is located Northwest of Redding, CA about a 45 minutes.  The Trinity River runs through the largest town of  Weaverville, CA. in the Trinity mountains.   We fish through the towns of Lewiston, CA  and Douglas City, CA.
